Boreal Military Discount - Late-season waterfowl hunting is often affected by freezing cold, rain or snow, and high winds. This waterproof/breathable material is our warmest GORE-TEX insulated waterfowl pant. PrimaLoft® Gold synthetic insulation and Cross CoreTM technology combine the properties of low insulation, but with warmth and glow. This increases warmth and reduces mobility when you are laying on the floor, climbing in or out of blinds. The high-style bib design provides plenty of coverage that won't slip, while the scratch-resistant, padded seat provides extra protection if you're about to play outside.
SITKA Gear engineers use the specific application and intended end use. These functional designs provide the wearer with the right clothes for the right situation.

Sheffield 12705 Boreal Folding Pocket Knife
Designed for waterfowl hunting in cold winter, high winds, and snow or rain, this is our warm GORE-TEX insulated waterfowl jacket. PrimaLoft® Gold Transfer uses Cross Core™ technology to mimic the insulation properties of down, but with the heat and moisture properties. This advanced insulation maximizes warmth and minimizes bulk: increasing mobility when placing decoys or carrying a gun. From waterproof cups to magnetic bag fasteners, every detail is carefully designed to enhance the late-season waterfowl hunter's experience.
By far the best waterfowl pants you can buy.
I bought these bib pants because I wanted a comfortable, durable bib that would also keep me warm on the coldest late season hunts. Needless to say, these pants exceeded my expectations! Now all I need is the Boreal Aerolite Waterjet Jacket and my kit is complete!
I haven't been able to use them due to injury. However, the fit and quality are excellent. I'm sure the performance will be good as well once I get a chance to use it outside.

I got them to my dealer after a cold, rainy, windy east canyon hunt in 35 degree weather.
With just a merino base underneath, I was completely comfortable the next morning and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I bought these boreal pants to go with the jacket. The bib design allows for more mobility when bending down to pick up bait compared to traditional bibs. The warmth of these pants is off the charts and will be amazing on late season hunts.
These are perfect. I'm from Minnesota and I'm often looking for 20-30F in the late season and this makes it easier. I haven't had any issues or complaints so far unless they had a belt. I bought the Sitka belt later because I'm 5'10" and I have a large, and the length is good, but the waist is too big.

These pants are very warm, bought for deer and duck hunting (yes, I know camo is not the right color) with little noise. I also wanted tight pants, which is why I bought them.

Vladimir Putin has said he wants to stop NATO expansion, but Russia's invasion of Ukraine has seen a strong military alliance between the US and its European allies.

This is also true in the north, where non-aligned countries Sweden and Finland are inviting larger international exercises with key partners during the transition period of membership this summer and autumn.
Ryske (Finnish for "fall through") is the largest military exercise north of the Arctic Circle. It takes place deep in the boreal forest between Sodankylä and Kemijärvi, about 90 km from the Russian border. Alakurtti, home to one of Russia's two Arctic brigades, is about 145 km east of the range where US, Finnish and Norwegian troops train.
Joint operations with partner countries are nothing new to the Jägeri Brigade, a military unit in the northern part of the Finnish Defense Forces. Last winter, their troops took part in NATO exercises led by Norway.
"We are training with key partner countries to create technical and procedural cooperation," said Commander of the Jägeri Guards, Colonel Jukka Kotilehto.

"The goal is to strengthen the ability of American and Finnish ground units to operate in an arctic environment," he added.
Finland's security cooperation with NATO has been going on for decades. The Nordic country joined the Partnership for Peace program in 1994, three years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Finland also participated in NATO-led missions in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq.
In terms of soft security, Helsinki has been a key player for the past three decades in building economic and political bridges with Russia to integrate its eastern neighbor into European integration. The Arctic Council, the Barents Cooperation, the EU's Northern Partnership and the Baltic Council are some examples of international mechanisms that took decades to build but were destroyed after Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

A poll conducted in April this year shows that 84 percent of Finns see Russia as a military threat, while more than 90 percent see Russia as an unpredictable and unstable dictatorship.
Finland submitted its official application to NATO on May 18, and a week later, on May 27, the country's defense minister decided to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense during training and exercises with key partner countries.
That's why military forces from countries like Norway, the United States, England, and Sweden are being sent to southern and northern Finland this summer and fall for martial arts training.

US troops assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team and the Airborne Division will remain in Finland for seven weeks. The Ryske exercise provides a combat readiness unlike any previous American experience. Deer grazing in the middle of minefields, mosquitos the size of a chopper, and 24-hour light are unique challenges on the Arctic battlefield.
But above all, it aims to develop the collective ability to fight across technical, cultural and linguistic barriers.
"Radio communication and language differences have so far been the most difficult obstacle in the combat phase of the exercise," said Colonel Kotilehto.
Covering 1,100 square kilometers, the Rovajärvi Art Gallery is the largest in Western Europe. Treading through the boreal forest, where an ambush can come from anywhere at any time, requires technology and skills that would be extremely difficult for a military enemy to master.

Half of the American and Norwegian soldiers participating in the exercise were transported by helicopter to the battlefield in the forest. The U.S. Army Airborne has two CH-47 Chinook aircraft operating out of Rovaniemi Air Base, and the Finnish Army supplies the NH90 to the military.
150 Norwegian Army soldiers, approximately 125 soldiers and 25 officers, are from the Porsanger unit, part of the Finnmark Land Command. The force is permanently based in the north
